Bruin Review: Winter 21 News In Review

For this publication, I worked with the editorial team and lead the art team to ideate the theme for the illustrations and general design. We settled on a comic book theme for this publication with bold and playful colors and imagery!

I created a total of three illustrations in addition to in text icons and illustrations. I then designed the publication assets that I wanted to include in the publication. This included editing the logo, creating the star and sparkle motifs, and creating the background gradients in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I then brought it into InDesign to put it all together.

I think the final product could definitely use some work typography-wise. I tried to find a font that fit our theme but also looked great, but had to sacrifice the latter. Some of the subheadings in the final product look awkward and could definitely use some adjusting.
